great epidemic

A mysterious plague that hit the city of Musard in the year 783 YP; along with the wheat famine just over fifty years later these were disasters from which the population of the north has not yet recovered.

Because it occurred only a year after the signing of the Great Charter, many Musardians still believe that the pestilence was divine punishment for renouncing the rights of violence, and entering this new era of peace for all mankind. If the gods had meant us to get along, goes the argument, they wouldn’t have given us all these sharp swords.
